I'm currently running James 2.1-CVS on
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.3.0, mixed mode)
and it runs for long periods without a problem. ps -auxwww | grep james |
wc -l currently shows 39 processes. How many do you see? It would be good
to know why you are seeing something other. What version of Phoenix do you
have installed?
Meanwhile, as a workaround you could put in a crontab task to restart james,
rather than do it manually.

Subject: Nbr. of processes on Linux
Hello all
We have the following configuration:
JDK : 1.3.1_04
Linux Debian 3
and tried James ( 2.0a3 ) : ( 2.1a1-2002-08-18 ) : ( 2.1a1-2002-09-24 )
After one or two days (...at the very best) running James, it just kills our
Linux with 1000-2000 processes running.
I have seen at least one other message on the list that reports the same
problem but no solution so far.
Our current workaround is to restart James every morning....weekends
included of course!
This is really frustrating.
Hope this can be fixed soon otherwise we will have to change our email
solution :o(
