RedHat 6.2 (upgrading soon either to 7.3 or 8.0, both of which are 2.4.18
kernel)
MySQL 3.23.42 (we'll upgrade when we move to the updated libc)
Sun JDK 1.3.0 (Are you running SMP?  Sun 1.4x JVM has reported SMP problems;
the fix is IBM JVM)
James 2.1-CVS
Phoenix 4.0beta

We are using use the file system for the spam and error stores, and the
outgoing spool (I'll probably switch this one). The primary spool
(incoming) and inboxes are managed through the database.

I have 39 processes after a clean restart and after long periods of
operation.

If I do the command:

ps aux | grep james

I have a list of 94 processes.
Right after a restart:
I have a list of 32 processes.

It is running on Phoenix 4.0beta

Note that when I spotted the problem on this list the configuration was:
James 2.0a3
Jdk1.4.0_01
mysql 3.23.51
RedHat 7.3

We are using the filesystem.

Thanxs

Jeff
