very simple and easy to follow (sortof). I just did this
over the weekend - M$SQL - and it all worked out.

Sort of.

The new user list - created with the telnet interface -
created the user and everything was fine until i needed to
log on; change the password, etc.
Telnet admin can create a user and list it out but cannot
change the passowrd - the user does not exist is the error I
get.

Is this a reported bug that I overlooked ??
