Thanks. This time I can read the Japanese.
I give the sentence-by-sentence translation.
-Τˤ衣(ano ko ni age yo) Give (it) to that
child/girl/boy.
-ΤäƤ졩(ano ko tte dare?) Who do you mean by "that
child/girl/boy"?
-ȤΤȤ衣(tomodachi no koto yo) Your friend.
-Ȥäơʤˡ (tomodachi tte nani?) What do you mean
by "friend"?
The question "ano ko tte dare?" can be said "ano ko to iu no wa dare
desu ka?" in formal Japanese.
The "-tte" in this usage functions as the English preposition "by"
in "mean by".
I'll show you a couple of examples so that you can get a rough idea.
-"tesuto no kekka wa dou datta-n-da?" "tesuto tte?" "Shirabakkureru-
n-ja nai." ("What did you get for the test?" "What test?" "Don't
play dumb.")
-"okaasan, koi tte nani?" "dare ka o sugoku suki ni naru koto
yo." "jaa, watashi wa okaasan ni koishiteiru ne." ("Mom, what's
romance?" "It means you get to like someone very much." "Then, I
have a romance with you, right?")
Is it clear?
