Hello

I'm writing a whitepaper about free alternatives to Sun's JDK, and
have been looking on projects like Classpath, Gcj, kaffe.

And it would seem, looking at the mailing list, that Japhar's
development hasn't been going strong for a while now. In fact, I was
disapointed at the http://www.fsf.org/software/java/java.html page,
which goes "There is also another Java Virtual Machine implementation
called Japhar, though we primarily recommend Kaffe.", if only because
you try to work along Classpath (great project, going strong) while
Kaffe don't.

Was there some bit of history that I missed, which explains why so
many people were participating and are not anymore???
