Hi Mohamed!
I also installed Apache and JServ on a SuSE withou problems, so I guess
you will make that easily too.
I've inserted my comments into the reply:

Well, I guess that's right so far. You can test your apache installation
with putting a "index.html" file of your into the htdocs dir. If you
request http://localhost (or http://hostname, as you prefer) you should
then see the content of this file in your browser.

I'm using JServ 1.03b and untared the source into /usr/src/.

If this is the latest release, I guess so.

Yes, me too!

If you really built apache 1.3.4 yourself and it works fine, than
installing the JServ is no problem!
Make sure that you configured apache with the DSO option (sorry, I don't
know the parameter for doing that anymore, but have a look to the apache
documentation for that, I think it's also in the INSTALL file).
After that, you can configure JServ as described in the corrsponding
INSTALL file.
For me it worked perfect.

I did no changes to what is described in the INSTALL file for JServ.
Everything worked fine.

Actually, the best would be /usr/lib/jsdk, as the JDK is also in
/usr/lib. But it has no special meaning so far where to put these
things. Be sure that you have all needed java files in your CLASSPATH!

It's 1.1.7 from the SuSE 6.0.

I hope this helped you a little bit. If you have other questions and
they don't regard to the jserv mailing list, feel free to contact me
directly via email.

That's why we are here!
