I have the same problem and got the same answers from the list. Perms on
the log file on my Linux box are *NOT* the problem. I set it up on one of
my AIX boxen, with identical perms, file ownership, software revs, and it
worked perfectly 'out of the box' on the first try. On Linux, it fails
everytime. Only differences are JDK (1.1.7v1 on Linux, 1.1.6 on AIX) and
the OS.
