I'm sorry for this fairly off-topic posting, but I couldn't find a
better list to post a question like this on.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a JDBC driver for MS SQL Server
to use with Apache JServ on a Solaris machine? (It should be pure-java,
because it's likely to be moved between Solaris Sparc and Solaris x86 as
time goes by, and ideally, would be able to be used on windows and linux
boxen too in the longer term).
My company is prepared to pay for this so long as the price is
reasonable, and Freedom (ie, openness of source) doesn't matter much
either, although both zero-cost and Free are desirable if any such
exist.
The most important thing I'm concerned about is reliability, and at
least reasonable performance - this isn't a high-load servlet, but it is
running on a machine that's fairly busy doing news serving.
I have looked at Sun's JDBC drivers list, but there's no substitute for
real-world experience. And my company is going to judge Java, JServ and
most imporantly ME ;) on how well this performs, so I don't want to
trust sales pitches from the authors.
Thanks, and sorry again for the off-topic post.
Stuart.
