Did you tryed to compile between each step ? I think it is better (at least
it worked here) to :
1. unpack Apache
2. Compile/Configure it
3. Test it
4. THEN ONLY add Jserv

Good. Now let's see the logs, what do you see in these files ? :
- jserv.log
- http-main-errors.log (or whatever the name of Apache error logs in /var/log)
