----------------------------- Please read the FAQ! <http://java.apache.org/faq/> ----------------------------- jon, thanks for your help... here are the answers to your questions: >> when it is done [the make install] there is no .so file *anywhere* it >did >> create the structure/copy > >Look in the directory that you get from: > >/usr/sbin/apxs -q LIBEXECDIR The return I get from the above qurery shows /usr/lib/apache this is of course where all of the other loadable modules are, however, no jserv to be seen >Also, take a look at your > >/usr/local/jserv/conf/jserv.conf file. In there should be the full path >to >the .so file...ie something like this: That's part of the problem... there *is* no conf file. I tried to make and install jserv when I pulled down the 1.3.9 apache source, but it failed for some forgotten reason, at that time I really didn't have time to explore all my poss. I saw it fail, so I just did a make clean, and got rid of the config.cache [that's been known to give me all sorts of issues in the past] do you think make clean didn't *make clean* and instead deleted the conf file? Is the conf file created during the make/make install process? the inly things in my /usr/local/jserv directory are docs and lib the lib contains the jar file >Please let me know what the results are...also, let me know what version >of >Apache JServ you are using. I am assuming it is 1.1b1, but I want to be >100% >sure. actually, I wanted to go with 1.0, rather than the 1st beta of 1.1, if you advise otherwise, I'll pull source down tomorrow morning [I am in EST] and give it a go. This will be going [eventually] on a production machine, so i figged beta was kind of dodgy... > >thanks. > >-jon no, thank you for devoting time to my issue ^_^ CMH "ninja" Shatter Interactive Let's face it: the life of a geek is boring. We spend all day in front of our computers checking our e-mail, coding, and sitting on our duff doing "nothing", at least to the untrained eye. On the molecular level, however, we are quite busy. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Please read the FAQ! <http://java.apache.org/faq/> To subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives and Other: <http://java.apache.org/main/mail.html> Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
