It appears that Jon should be more open to sharing. How could a person do
harm by having the faq contents? A lesson should be learned from Linux. By
not allowing the FAQ contents to be available for development is rather
closed-source.
It is very difficult to build an application when you cannot see the old
application or its data. The old application and its data are very useful
in deducing the requirements, use-cases, and ultimately the design the new
system.
I have a tar of most if not all the faq contents. It's 2758k of data. I
could email to someone if they could handle the large of an email.
Or you could get it yourself by doing:
wget -r http://java.apache.org/faq/fom-serve/cache/
GNU Wget 1.5.3, a non-interactive network retriever.
Usage: wget [OPTION]... [URL]...
