According to the status page on the Blackdown site, there is a known
problem with native threads, SMP machines, and the Blackdown JDK. They said
that they are planning to fix this problem in a later release. That is why I
was so anxious to get the IBM JDK running. I tried the Blackdown version
myself on my Dual Pentium III 500 machine, and it would hang after
processing only a few requests. With the standard Mandrake libraries, the
native threads version would run on my machine as long as you didn't put a
load on it.
