I just recently received some invaluable help from jon and I am
extremely grateful for that. I think he's an outstanding programmer and
I've been using JServ for almost a year now (unprofitably,
unfortunately. Nobody likes the idea of "free" software here in
Singapore). I'm not sure about the "nazi" thing, being a Chinese and all
that, and it sounds really nasty (kinda like what the Japanese did to us
Chinese in WW2), but I was pretty sure that Bill was joking.

We had a flame war not so long ago on the Caldera Users list and some
brilliant people left and are sorely missed. Someone suggested that we
setup a site (with the generous donation of bandwidth and server space
from some individuals) which hosted an FAQ of sorts -- called it a
StepByStep, that pooled the collective knowledge of the people who were
left, and now, in a matter of weeks, the site has grown to large
proportions. The purpose of the site was to gather HOWTO-like documents
written by average people that were accessible to any newbie starting
out. The HOWTO's on Linux are great, but a little too daunting to
newbies (especially newbies coming from a MS background).

Now, I know that there is an FAQ up for JServ, but sometimes it's hard
to navigate, and it has some ways to go before it becomes accessible.

Perhaps it's time for a Step by Step here too ?

Regards,
pascal chong
