Hey,
MapQuest wants $40K, if you can believe it, for api access to it's servers, if
I want to use a cgi program to use thier service.
Since this year, I am on a rampage to erradicate cgi from any new projects for this
year, I was wondering if anyone knows of a different service on the net that can
provide me with jsp/servlet access to map information, minus the $40K price tag just to
do so.
It would seem Map Quest is mighty confident I won't find a competitor in this area,
and that they can punish me for using the Java api. I think that is a bit excessive,
don't you think? $40K for a map function on a cgi page? Wow, I can't even charge
those sorts of prices and we build enterprise wide apps for networks that span
continents!
In any case, I just want to be able to place a map with a location on it with perhaps
directions. Anybody familair with this software?
