Hi,

>Dear Friends,

Please don't post complaints to this list that nobody is helping you.
When you don't really even use the right terminology, it seems
hopeless to try to help you.
No one wants to get into a big back-and-forth e-mail session
with someone who doesn't even speak the right technical language.

>Jserver 1.1

Presumably you mean Apache JServ 1.1.

Presumably you are asking about comparing JRun to GnuJSP as a JSP engine.
This has absolutely nothing to do with patching the Apache web server.

>If we go for the patch over the apache web server then we have to have

>DSO apache web server for the patch

Presumably you are asking whether GnuJSP will run on a non-DSO
Apache webserver which is running Apache JServ.
I have never tried to get GnuJSP to run, but if you have JServ running
presumably GnuJSP will run on top of it.

>Thirdly, jrun patch supports JWSDK 2.0 where we are using JWS2.0 will it

>Can we update our current installation to JWSDK2.0 ? if yes How ?

By JWS2.0, I am guessing you mean the Java Web Server. !?!
JWSDK 2.0 does not exist.
JSDK2.0 is required for use in Apache JServ.
This implements the Sun Java Servlets 2.0 specification.
The JSDK2.1 is the next in the series from Sun, but this will not
run on Apache JServ.
The JSDK series was replaced by the JWSDK series.
The JWSDK 1.0.X implements the Sun Java Servlets 2.1 specification.
The JWSDK 1.1.X implements the Sun Java Servlets 2.2 specification.
So we really have no idea what you are talking about here.
If you need the JWSDK or Servlets 2.1 (or up), don't even think
about using Apache JServ.
(You may want to wait for Tomcat, on the other hand.)

My recommendation...
Download the latest Apache 1.3.12 and compile as DSO.
Add Apache JServ support (with JSDK 2.0, Servlets 2.0).
Add GnuJSP (JSP 1.0) support.

I'm sure that JRun would work too.
