If you can run the /jserv, then jserv is working. Remember that Jserv is Java 
ITSELF, and when you invoke /jserv. you are running Java. 

If you want to post the logs again with the servlets properties file, I might 
be able to help you. You may be right about the RPM problem. I think Mandrake 
may nor run Redhat RPMs correctly sometimes. Have you tried building from 
source?
