Found three issues: (1) Zip files fail to open with "my" WinZip. (2) No meta-inf/license in some external jars. (3) Empty lucene-similarity jar in the bin distribution.
More details below, but bottom line, (1) might be just my problem (?), for (2) it might be ok for those external jars not to have a license (?) but really IANAL, and, (3) is minor, - we should remove contrib/similarity which is practically empty, but this one should not stop a release. ============ More details ============ For the two zip files: ---------------------- For both md5sum check pass. However, for both, Winzip on my XP failed to read the files. This was with: Windows XP Professional 5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 2 WinZip(R) 8.1 SR-1 (5266s) compiled: Oct 1 2002 On a Windows Server 2003 both zip files opened ok, though this was with a "Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction" program - seems like an integrated OS utility on that machine (doesn't seem like WinZip, anyhow.) So it might just be a bug in the WinZip version running on my XP, but I wonder what others get for these files. For the two tar.gz files: ------------------------- md5sum check pass for both. Binary version: built and ran the demos ok. License 2.0 & Notice under meta-inf in all jars - ok. lucene-similarity-2.2.0.jar is empty. Src version: ant clean test - all passed. No (any) licence in some external jars: - Tidy.jar - gdata-client-1.0.jar - log4j-1.2.13.jar - servlet-api.jar - xercesImpl.jar - jline.jar - jakarta-regexp-1.4.jar =========== - Doron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
