Will be interesting to try out your new patch. The previous patch (may not be
related to InstantiatedIndex though) is still yielding some errors in
SegmentMerger. It would be good to have a test using
IndexWriter.addIndexes(IndexReader[] readers) simply passing in one
InstantiatedIndexReader.
