I think Erik put it well. I'd agree with that thinking even if I were not the co-author. Listing LIA2 on the Wiki is good (and done), but my fear is that only some people will find it there. I think showing LIA2 on the main page and making it a bit stickier than a regular news item is a way to help Lucene users find it quickly. When new books focused exclusively on Lucene emerge they should get the same treatment, in my opinion.
