Hi Alex. Surely http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/ is the best book for java ee also from my point of view. But as you are looking for an introductory tutorial, you can follow http://java.sun.com/javaee/6/docs/firstcup/doc/. I think, it is good enough to start application development with java ee.
