What is the "CDE for Linux"? I'll assume that you're asking about the
window manager for Linux. Swing has no run-time dependencies (though
it's appearance and behavior may be slightly different...) on the
window manager; however, CDE does not have a Linux port (to my
knowledge). You'll want to look into KDE; otherwise, just use the
wm shipped with your Linux distribution.
