me too i had to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to something like :
/usr/local/src/jdk1.2/jre/lib/i386/green_threads:/usr/local/src
/jdk1.2/jre/lib/i386/classic:/usr/local/src/jdk1.2/jre/lib/i386
