I have observed the same. The graphic performance (swing) has been horribly
decreased in comparison to jdk1.1.7 + swing (look at the 2D examples). I
don't think that this is only jdk1.2-specific. The performance on Windows
seems ok to me.
I hope this will change sometimes with the official release of 1.2 for linux.
