Hello all,
I have two questions. First, how can I start up multiple java apps using the same
JVM? I will be running several java applications on the same box at the same time,
and would rather not have the overhead of loading the JVM several times if I can avoid
it. However, (second question) is it better to use multiple JVMs - one for each app?
What would you suggest. My delivery platforms range from the hated WinNT OS, to the
DOS OS w/ either GDI version - 95 or 98, to Solaris 2.5.1/2.6 running on UltraSparc1
boxes, to Red Hat or Caldera Linux running on Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium MMX, PII,
PIII, Dual-PII, Dual-PIII, Quad-PIII Xeon, or RHLinux running on UltraSparcs. I am
also working with SGI boxes, NeXT boxes, possibly some HPUX boxes, a few DEC Alpha
boxes, and, when the JVM is mature enough, some nice multiprocessor Intel boxes
running BeOS.
Thanks....Jim
