Greetings,
I don't know what causes this, but I can describe the
simple steps that I took to solve it on my system.
The StarOffice installation readme file lists a few
specific versions of jdk and jre with which the product
is known to work. I simply installed the newest jre
in that list, which was jre117_v1a. I did not try to
use jdk1.2 with StarOffice.
Takes a little extra disk space, but saves a lot of pointless
effort, in my opinion.
