Dear all, I am an infant in Linux field but has deeper experience with Java. I am interested to developing Java in Linux environment as there are many advantages of this OS. However I have not been successfully installing the JDK. I have tried in RedHat 6.2 and also OpenLinux 2.3. I have tried to install the JDK from the code included. I have also use a copy of JDK1.1.7 from a CD but I am also failed ... I have also downloaded jdk-1.2.2-RC4-linux-i386-glibc.tar.sh from a mirror site of www.blackdown.org, but the shell script is not written properly ... Please give me any direction.
