Hi, Blackdown JVM 1.3 support green and native threads, but 1.4 only native. Threading is an important issue for the server side java applications.
Green threads are very scalable ( see Volano report ), while the native threads under Linux are a limited to few , before the server crash. IBM released a new thread library ( Next Generation Threads ) supporting M:N mapping ( Linux use 1:1 ), but there are none JVM ready yet to work with that library. It's posible for Blackdown release a JVM 1.4 with green threads or NGthreads ?
