Hi,

Thanks for your advice. I got java running, after having placed the requested files in the needed directories and having put in some needed soft links.

Now having run my Hello World, I am about to run an AWT only app. I have installed X-Windows, but somehow I do not get it to run properly.

I am now facing an error message with the font properties.

Font specified in font.properties not found [-*-standard symbols l-medium-r-norm
al--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]
....
....

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

Hi,
I think you amy want to untar the additional-ipaq-stuff at the root directory, i mean "/", not "/root".
Another funny way is to find out "libBrokenLocale.so.1", and copy it *every* directory you want to run java, for example, you have a directory "/helloWorld", then put this file to "/helloWorld" and type "java helloWorld" in "/helloWorld".
Good Luck and enjoy it.

unzip additionsl-ipaq-stuff.tar.gz in the root directory. This will put the library and X-stuff where it needs to be.

then run ldconfig to configure the run-time bindings, and the jre should be able to find the libBrokenLocal library
