*SQL DBA (w/ Great Plains development experience)*

*PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES*

•         Modify/create/maintain stored procedures

•         Modify/create SQL statements

•         Create/modify tables

•         Determine logic from existing SQL statements

•         Assess and implement database tuning processes

•         Lead the workflow update processes

•         Data management and data problem resolution

•         Other project support primarily related to data and data
infrastructure

•         Provide daily status updates  on assigned tasks

•         Address issues and change requests according to the project
management methodology

•         Some work will be performed outside of normal (M-F 8:00 – 5:00)
work hours

*WORK EXPERIENCE*

•      Experience supporting Great Plains development and production SQL
Server database instances.  Includes monitoring scheduled jobs, space
management, backups, maintenance of indexing jobs, data imports and exports,
and issue resolution for a state agency that administers and monitors public
employee benefits.

•      Experience supporting CRM SQL Server databases including monitoring
and updating CRM reports, managing report permissions and schedules,
backups, space management, and issue resolution for a state agency that
administers and monitors public employee benefits.

•      Experience supporting a production server including testing and
resolving performance issues, monitoring scheduled jobs and tasks, and issue
resolution for a state agency that performs inmate tracking.

•      Support of production SQL Server database including testing, job
monitoring, user testing, issue resolution, vendor support, and developer
support for a state agency responsible for administering human resource
activities.



*PERFORMANCE REQUIRMENTS*

The contractor must be able to provide quality DBA work according to the
project schedule, as formally agreed upon by the contractor, WVOT, and the
WVOT’s customers.   Failure to meet scheduled project timelines, benchmarks
or other performance indices may result in immediate dismissal.  The vendor
may be held accountable for replacing any dismissed consultant/contractor
and made responsible for completing the contract as agreed to initially.



*Only a minimum of three (3) current years* *SQL Server DBA experience will
be considered acceptable *

Specific work experience (projects, types of work performed)

•         Database / metadata analysis and design

•         Writing and debugging complex SQL

•         Tuning poor performing SQL

•         Backup and Recovery of application databases

•         Writing and debugging Stored Procedures

•         Writing and debugging user defined functions

•         Writing and debugging views

•         Develop and debug SSRS packages

•         Experience with working databases used for web applications

•         Experience with converting Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, text
files and other formats into a SQL Server database

•         Experience creating and maintaining tables, indexes, constraints,
and triggers

•         Experience with using Microsoft Visio to document databases
(preferred)

*Educational Requirements*

·        Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or
university

·        Certification Requirements

·        Preference will be given to candidates with an industry standard
certification.

·        Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Extensive knowledge of SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008

·        Extensive knowledge of SLQ and TSQL

·        Experience with developing and debugging DTS and SSRS packages

·        Experience with SQL Server Management Studio

·        Experience with SQL Server Integration Services

·        Experience with SQL Reporting Server

·        Exposure to Microsoft Visio to document databases

·        Experience Creating and Maintaining Tables, Indexes, Constraints,
and Triggers

·        Experience with SQL Profiler

·        Experience with designing, developing, and implementing database
applications

·        Willingness to work under current DBA’s direction

·        Ability to translate complex technical information into easily
understandable language/documentation

·        Ability to review systems analysis documents and create a logical
and physical database design.

·        Ability to work in a team environment.  This position requires the
DBA to work closely and support peer-DBAs, project managers, systems
analysts, and application developers in order to design and develop the most
efficient databases possible for the organization.

·        Any candidate must show a willingness to accept a variety of
assignments (including analysis and maintenance) with equal enthusiasm.
