Hello all, Recently, Sun submitted a request to develop a new API specification for Image I/O to the Java Community Process Office (PMO). The request can be viewed at http://java.sun.com/aboutJava/communityprocess/jsr/jsr_015_iio.html That request was approved, and the Community Process Office has put out a "call for experts" who would develop the specification at http://java.sun.com/aboutJava/communityprocess/cafe.html which is open until 5th July 1999. I'd like to draw the attention of those on the 2D interest list to this CAFE, and encourage eligible parties to submit their nominations to the PMO.
