Regardless of whether you have the book or not, you
can download the examples off the main catalog page:

Follow the link for "Examples" in the left hand column.
I think nothing has broken in the 1.3 release, hooray. I
gave a talk on 2D a couple weeks ago and the examples
seemed to run just fine.
