Hi Irv,
   Unfortunately we don't have loops that support non-RGB images right now.
What might be faster is if you can manipulate the Raster instead.  What
are you trying to do with the images?  You may be able to use the imaging
ops to transform the src raster to the dst raster and then just attach
the color model.
