I am running win98 and winnt on machines with various
video cards. In any app or applet I have
run, (one's I've written and the demos), any object that
is constantly moving occassionally pauses. ie the
VirtualInputDevice demo. THe cube rotates and every
few seconds it pauses. I've noticed the same behaviour
in animations using Java2d. The more that is being painted
the more often the pauses offucr. I've searched the web
for different techiniques and demos that handle the "paint"
differently and get the same problem It was reported once
in the Java2D interest group and attributed to garbage
collecting. I've also had someone tell me that it might
be the threading model on Windows or NT but I've never
seen the with Wing, DirectX, Opengl or other propriety
systems.
Has anyone else seen this?
What's happening?
Can it be fixed? It's deffinitely not acceptable.
