I absolutely agree. I've made the same post in the past, but not many people
seem to care about this issue. I wouldn't hold my breath for Sun to do it
either. On the other hand, it really wouldn't be that hard for any individual
to do, but it'd really be nice if there was one standard installer that was
distributed by someone big like Sun or IBM.
This issue can really go a few steps further. There are many who wish that the
JDK and JRE came installed standard on new PCs. I think it'd also be nice to
allow the JDK/JRE to automatically upgrade itself (with user permission of
