Java3D can not run on SGI's IRIX until SGI releases a final version of the
JDK1.2
There is a beta version available at the website but I have found it's
performance quite poor ( ~4 times slow than the already painfully slow 1.1
jvm for our apps)
Perhaps after the 1.2 final release is made and then a Java3D port, it will
be usable.
BTW, I've been runnning Java3D on IRIXs using Jean-Christophe Taveau's ( and
a cast of others ... )

It's incomplete but what is there works! And you get the source so if you
find something that needs fixin', you're golden!
