I am not sure what your problem is, but I am going to have to guess opengl
driver problem, or a display problem

the code you gave me works fine on my win95 machine, and my sun machine with
elite3d

I cun put the transparency value at 155 (making it pretty opaque) and the others
at 55
and they blend together
I have used TransparencyAttributes.BLENDED and NICEST

So, your code should work
I would try downloading the latest drivers for your card/system and trying again
not a good solution, but the best I can think of right now
