MULTIMEDIA TRADESHOW'99 ACM Multimedia International Workshop on Multimedia Virtual Exhibition: Models, Technologies and Applications in conjonction with ACM Multimedia Conference 1999 http://www.kom.e-technik.tu-darmstadt.de/acmmm99/ MULTIMEDIA TRADESHOW'99 will explore how multimedia technology could re-engineer the way visitors and exhibitors presently operate their visiting a trade-show or exhibiting at the same by subscribing and managing a booth. The workshop will cover technologies for exhibition's virtual construction, processing of products' queries and virtual exhibition's visits prior to official opening, including interpersonal e-messaging among visitors and exhibitors' personel during and after the trade-show. Key of the virtual exhibit concept is allowing post-exhibit virtual continous e-business for information, dealer contract closing, and products delivery. Special focus will be placed on issues related to full digital operations over internet, voice messaging included. Needed technologies relate to proposed standards for the integration of TV and the Web for dynamic scenes visualisation, as well as image and sound content analysis and processing, or paradigms and metaphors for multimedia authoring and display. The economic impact of virtual trade operations is also relevant to this workshop, both from visitors and exhibitors standpoint.
