Hi!

We are currently developing a programm that allows the user (avatar) to walk
through a shopping-mall and enter a particular shop by stepping through the
corresponding door. When the user "enters" the door we want to switch to
another Locale-Branch which contains the shop.

Going through the API-specification switching the ViewPlatform in the
current View-Object should do exactly what we wanted to. But it didn't.

In our current test-scenario the scenegraph consists of one universe and two
Locale-Objects. The first one contains the shopping-mall and the second one
virtual shop. We are using the easier-to-use Viewer- and
ViewingPlatform-classes, with only one Viewer and two ViewingPlatforms (one
for each locale).
When entering a door we simply call Viewer.setViewingPlatfom to switch to
the other locale (and vice versa). But when switching to the other Locale
the switch doesn't seem to have worked.
The canvas didn't show the expected part of the shop and the navigation
behaviors (e.g. KeyNavigatorBehavior) don't work. The view didn't even seem
to be near the expected position. It seems that is is somewhere else in the
shopping-mall locale.
In an other testcase (only consisting of color-cubes) the destination
position seems to be correct but again none of the behaviors were working.

I believe that there has to be a solution. Maybe we overlooked something.
Or is it a bug?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

Sincerely, yours

 Michael Lorenz.
