    That's just about the reverse of what you should expect - the HS gc is
incremental and should run without pausing, while pausing for half a second
sounds just like the standard, classic VM.

    Try running with -verbose:gc, and make sure you are using the correct
vm (check with -version). Also try running with -classic on the 1.2.2 -
it should disable hotspot, see if it makes a difference.
