Ive recently been using Java3D with Mesa 3.0 on Linux.
But, the current vesion of XFree86 does not support direct hardware
rendering (At least for my nVidia TNT card).
But XFree86 4.0 will support this. Also the new Xfree86 include GLX
modules. And another version of Mesa. I'm trying out an Xfree86 4.0
preview snapshot now.. still no hardware rendering for me yet
though...:(
My question is, can I force my current version of Java3D to use these
new hardware accellerated libraries (libGL.so etc.. etc..) simply by
changing my LD_LIBRARY_PATH to use them?
Or will Java3D actually need to be recompiled to support the new
libraries?
