We have compiled benchmarks, although I would not claim they were the most
scientific in the world. They were intended to evaluate the relative merits
of hardware acceleration for Java 3D.
As far as I know they represent the largest collection of benchmarks yet
collected. I am working (still!) on a more comprehensive benchmark suite
that I will probably release with source code. Work commitments have kept me
from this for a while, but if there is interest I can resurrect the code.

I'd be interested to hear your conclusions. As you can see, opinions are
divided on the list - but usually shared!
