The Mesa libs are being included as standard distribution with XFree 4.0
- along with SGI's GLX code and a number of other improvements. As part
of this, a number of hardware accelarated drivers are being written.

There is a snapshot of the currently available "beta" release available
at the usual mirrors that contain much of this code. IIRC, the version
is 3.9.16. so check it out.
If you need fast linux OpenGL performance today then one of the
commercial X servers like AccelaratedX or MetroX will get you there.

a single light or many lights, lights that one must know how to
distinguish, recognise and appreciate? Is it one light with many
frames or one frame for many lights?" -Subcomandante Marcos
