I beg to differ about this book. I think it is pretty bad.
They seemed to have been in a big rush to get it to press.
There are numerous mistakes an I stopped reading it after a few chapters.
I was especially disappointed by the mistake for the rotation matrices in
Chapter 2.
All three of their rotation matrices X, Y and Z have the wrong signs for
some of their terms and I have emailed them about it with no response.
Since the book concentrates so highly on Applets, and keeps talking about
the numerous movies that have appeared recently using CGI, I think this
book is geared toward teenagers who think they are going to be the next ILM
or Lucas Arts CGI guru.
I know this sounds extremely pessimistic, but I actually thought about
trying to get a refund and buy the, now two year old, Java 3D API book.
