I know this isn't the intent of this forum but probably someone here could
point me in the right direction.
I am familiar with only two of the java "technologies" available:
Java 1.2 SDK and Java 3D.
However I keep hereing about Jini, Java Enterprise Edition, Java Beans, ...
Is there a list somewhere (one page) which briefly notes each Java tech. and
it's purpose (raison d'etre)?
Something like:
Java 1.2 SDK Java Version 2 Software Development Kit: the basic compiler,
libraries and tools neccessary for building and
running
Java programs including the latest graphical
interface
components known as Swing
Java 3D Components and libraries for using Java to render
interactive 3D scenes and virtual worlds providing a
superset of functionality over older languages like
VRML.
I look at Sun's page but it's description of things is on separate pages:
http://java.sun.com/products/#list and any links followed provide too much
info, I just want a quick note of what it is not a three page description.
