I'm copying the JAVA3D-INTEREST mailing list in hopes that the SUN people will
pick this up. This package so far looks like it would be a TREMENDOUS and badly
needed addition to the Java3d package. I'm hoping they can help develop a
comprehensive documentation package.

I'm not exactly understanding your question. But I think I'm in a similar
situation, not knowing C++ but experienced with Java & java3d (although an
admitted novice).

You do have to install the .dll files to c:\windows\system directory (the
install executable did this in my case)

Included in the download is a MeFast....jar file. I copied that file to both
the
c:\jdk1.2.2\jre\lib\ext
c:\ProgramFiles\javasoft\jre\1.2\lib\ext
locations.

Now the java "wrapper" is in place and functional.

Documentation is sparse and sketchy. But I've been able to write the beginnings
of a particle system and it works so far. I'm letting the MeFast package do the
dynamics for me, then pulling the information into my scenegraph and displaying
it in a Canvas3D.

Phil, please keep in touch us Java guys will have to rely on one another for a
while. You can e-mail me if you'd like to have a copy of my java files. I'll
warn you though, I'm not to good at documentation, and being a novice my code
is not organized well and probably hard to read.

Again I really hope the people at SUN will pick this up and run with it. From
what I see so far this could be a major advancement in Java3d.
