kwc,

I'd recommend reinstalling or updating your video drivers.  Another possibility is to try the different flavors of Java 3D (Open GL and Direct X)- if you're currently using the Open GL version, try the Direct X and vice versa.  Note that the new version of Java 3D (1.2) supports only Open GL while the old version supports both.

Subject: Re: [JAVA3D] Freeze under Windows98

I can work around this problem if I reduce the hardware acceleration functions down.
To try this:
a) Go to the settings tab on display properties
b) Choose advanced
c) On the Performance tab chose the second setting from the left on the hardware acceleration slider.

This problem probably only occurs under certain cards/settings.

Subject: [JAVA3D] Freeze under Windows98

I'm getting a freeze on my Windows98 system.  The first time I run any Java3d application everything is fine.  The second time I get a hard system freeze that requires a system reset.  It feels like a nasty dll problem.

System Info: Windows98
Dell400/128Meg/STB 128
DirectX 6.1
Java3D DirectX version 1.1.3

Anyone run into a similar issue? Thanks.
