I think I have mentioned it before. but theres a Shout3d app. who claim to
be a plugin free java based 3d api. I went through some of the demos and it
seems to be running VRML file in the background. I suppose it can run
animated as well. but I would like to see some reviews on that. I am sure
its nothing compared to java3d. Java3d is much more advanced and powerful.
but I dont know how they are claiming it to be plugin free.

At present, the VRML player is the only way to use the animations. A
mechanism
to allow some VRML animations to work using the Loader interface may be
coming
soon. Contact me directly if you are interested.
