A severe limitation of the J3D Raster class is that the local
coordinates are
specified for the upper left-hand corner of the raster image only. There
is
no way to specify a different pixel in the image to correspond to the
specified
local position. There is no way to modify the position so as to simulate
a different
anchor point in the raster. Furthermore, raster processing appears to be
implemented in the J3D dll so there is no way to supplement the Java
libraries
to provide the needed functionality.
Is there a way to appeal to the Java gods to add this capability?
Specifically,
what is needed is a mechanism to specify an arbitrary pixel (or possibly
beyond
the bounds of) the given raster image to be used as an anchor point
which is
then to be rendered at the specified local coordinate position.
Please help???
