I just wanted to advertise the JavaOne BOF on Java 3D to this forum and to announce an exciting addition to the session. The SUN Java 3D team will be present at BOF-1667 on Tuesday, June 6 at 9:00 PM in the Golden Gate Ballroom - B3 at the Marriott Hotel. The first part of this BOF is geared towards intermediate level Java 3D developers and will use hands-on examples to show how the Java 3D API has helped accelerate scientific visualization development for a research project in the rapid-prototyping area. Topics include polygon data loader, various behaviors including picking and manipulators, and integration with the Java Foundation Classes API (JFC, a.k.a. "JFC/Swing"). The second part of this BOF will allow you to hear about future directions and plans for Java 3D from the designers and engineers themselves. Henry Sowizral, one of the architects of Java 3D and a SUN Distinguished Engineer, and other senior engineers, will be at the BOF to answer Java 3D related questions. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to learn from the experts! Hope to see some of you next week!
