I just installed the new Detinator 2 drivers from NVidia on my
P2 450 box with a TNT(16 MB) and 256 MB of memory and Windows 2000.
I could not notice any difference in the performance at
all. Running the SphereMotion demo, it was still as clunky as ever...with
Java3D 1.2, JDK 1.3 and no other tasks running. I remember running this
same thing on NT with the older 3.63 drivers and it was WAY faster. Why
would that be?
One thing I noticed was that after the install and re-boot the
old opengl driver was still in the winnt/sys32 directory, so I replaced it with
the new dll that came in the zip file...isn't the openGL dll supposed to get
installed automatically when you install the new nvidia drivers? I
uninstalled the old drivers first.
Anyone have the same experience with TNT on Windows
2000?
Am I doing something wrong?
